Hitex Expands Range Of Surface Treatments For Cycle Routes

Hitex International, a leading global provider of road safety and surfacing solutions, has introduced PumaTrack, a new modified MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) surface treatment for cycle tracks. Quick and easy to apply, PumaTrack is available in a wide range of standard and custom colours and provides catalyst-controlled curing in 10-30 minutes to reduce traffic congestion.

According to Hitex Traffic Safety: “PumaTrack provides a high quality, even finish that delivers enhanced safety for cyclists and vulnerable road users. Using the highway industry’s first PU modified MMA technology, this cold-applied surfacing treatment provides a less disruptive solution that will maximise road crew productivity and efficiency.”

PumaTrack is roller-applied for easy installation and is available in a wide range of colours. It is engineered to deliver the highest levels of durability, adhesion and colour stability in any temperature environment for a long service life.

Hitex International’s range of coloured cycle route surfacing solutions also includes VeloGrip, a resin bonded system that incorporates fine aggregates to provide high levels of skid resistance without the sharp, abrasive texture of other high friction surfacing products. CycleWay, a coloured thermoplastic material with high levels of skid resistance to improve braking efficiency and grip, is another key product for cycle routes. Suitable for all classes of road, it offers economical spread rates to reduce costs in large-scale deployments.
